MotionKeep Privacy Policy

MotionKeep is a free desktop video downloader. This policy explains what information the website and app may process.
Information We Process
- Download links, save locations, task status, and local settings that you enter in the app, used to complete downloads you start.
- Basic access logs from the website and download domains, used for security, availability, and troubleshooting.
- When the app checks for updates, it accesses
download.motionkeep.appto retrieve the latest version information. - By default, the app sends low-granularity anonymous diagnostics and usage events to understand installs, daily active use, download starts/completions/failures, frontend errors, suspected crashes, and local Rust/Tauri panic summaries. You can turn this off in app settings.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not upload your local media files to MotionKeep servers for processing.
- We do not upload raw download URLs, download titles, local file paths, cookies, account information, full error stacks, or crash dumps through anonymous diagnostics.
- We do not sell personal information.
Files and Task Data
Downloaded files are saved to the local folder you choose. Task records, failure information, and app settings are stored on your device to show progress and help troubleshoot errors.
Anonymous diagnostic events only include allow-listed fields such as a locally generated install ID, app version, operating system, architecture, language, platform category, download mode, quality options, error code, sanitized error summary, and error fingerprint. This helps us measure download success, crash trends, and release quality without identifying the specific content a user downloaded.
Third-Party Services
The website, release manifest, and installers are distributed through Cloudflare and download.motionkeep.app. Anonymous diagnostic events are sent to telemetry.motionkeep.app and received by Cloudflare Worker/D1. Actual downloaded content comes from the platforms behind the links you enter, and those platforms have their own privacy policies and terms of use.
Data Security
We use reasonable measures to protect the website and download distribution path. No software or network service can promise absolute security. Only install packages from official domains.
